What is Noah’s Ark in Rotterdam?

Noah’s Ark is a museum and experience aboard De Ark van Noach: a story ship you can simply walk into. Across four decks you journey through the story of Noah and the animals, told in a surprisingly contemporary way.

The Ark is not a traditional museum. Whatever you believe, visitors get talking with one another here: about hope, about responsibility and about how we treat the world.

How big is Noah’s Ark?

  • 70 metres long from bow to stern: a ship as big as a city block.
  • 13 metres high, with four decks above the water of ZUIDYARD.
  • More than 2,000 m² of experiences, from the hold to the top deck.
  • Allow about an hour and a half for a complete tour.

What do you see on board?

You walk through the ship past the stories on board, such as the Tree of Life. There is plenty to touch and experience; you can even take on Goliath.

Children set off with a treasure hunt and an information folder and so discover all the stories on board. A small surprise awaits at the end of the treasure hunt.

  • Address: ZUIDYARD, Doklaan 40, 3081 AD Rotterdam, on the Maashaven in Rotterdam-Zuid.
  • Open Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 to 18:00 and Sunday from 13:00 to 18:00. Closed on Monday.
  • Tickets: €2 per person, online or on the spot at PIER40, opposite the Ark. Your ticket is also a €2 voucher at PIER40.
  • Allow about an hour and a half for all four decks.
  • Suitable for the whole family. Unfortunately the Ark is not wheelchair accessible.
  • Parking on our own grounds: €4 per hour or €22 for a day ticket, the first 15 minutes free.
  • By public transport, travel towards Maashaven metro station or Rotterdam-Zuid and walk to ZUIDYARD. The water taxi also stops at ZUIDYARD (Zuidyard stop, at the PIER40 terrace).
